Remortgage delimma

Hello
My wife has recently left her job (mid July) and is currently seeking employment .Her fixed term repayment mortgage on her property has come to an end . We would like to rent her property out in the next 4-6 months.
What are our options in terms of getting a remortgage if my wife is currently unemployed. The mortgage is in her name and we would like to get another deal as the monthly repayments are too high.
Can we apply for a joint mortgage as I am still working, but have my own mortgage on another property ?
Many Thanks..

You can look at customer retention deals from her current provider as that shouldn't involve affordability checks. However, this would be if she applies solely in her name - if you want to be apply jointly then full underwriting will happen on both of your incomes (wherever you apply).0

Check the follow on rate for the mortgage - it might be cheaper than what you are presently paying.
You would need permission from your lender to rent the house out temporarily. If it is more long term you'll need to look at Buy to Let mortgages.0
