Buing A FitBit

Options
Ok so i've decided to take the plunge and purchase a FitBit, Choosing the Charge HR, I need an XL (21cm) wrist. I go to their approved retailers to find nobody has that size, i then went to their own shop and they have it. so i contacted them via facebook and got the following reply::

"Thanks for the interest, Tony! Charge HR in XL wristband is only available through our web store"

Now the best bit they charge 15-20% more than retailers, and say they will not ship XL sizes to retailers, i questioned the ethics of this and TBH the reply was a scripted "i understand your issue"
This seems like they are strangling supply to increase the price?!

Their mission statment is::
"To empower and inspire you to live a healthier, more active life. We design products and experiences that fit seamlessly into your life so you can achieve your health and fitness goals, whatever they may be"

Maybe they should add that if you are in the group that will benefit from our product the most it will cost you more

    How annoying!
Does it have to be Fitbit? Hubby has this Garmin.

    I've just measured his and it's 25cm.

    Hope that helps :)
  • The Mrs has just upgraded from the Fitbit charge to the Alta, that has interchangeable straps, might be worth a look.

So after an exchange via F/B messenger and their page on the same site during which they contradicted them selves, their basic response is "Like it or Lump it"

I have seen both sizes in Costco, if you have a membership. The Charge HR was included in the deals they have, so was a little bit cheaper.

So, is it the stair climb, or Heart rate that you require?

there are plenty of alternatives for the Heart rate monitor (Xiaomi Mi Band2 for example)

not seen any other for the stairs climbed, but then i have never found it particularly accurate or indeed helpful with my Charge HR
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

I'm pretty sure you can get a XL charge HR through the Parkrun Fitbit offer for £104.99.

Just register with parkrun and use you parkrun barcode number to log into the offer page here
