Santander mortgage offer waiting time ?

I received a phone call from my broker on Friday morning to say the full mortgage application with Santander had been approved.


I was under the impression they would send the offer out in the post the same day..?


I have just received a text from Santander to say the mortgage offer is being sent to me. The first contact I have had since they text to say the formal application was received.


I would just like to know from anyone who has dealt with Santander, how long I should expect to wait for the offer?


The reason I ask is that I am purchasing a new build and so need to be exchanged by next Thursday. Obviously I cannot do anything with regards to solicitor without the formal offer.

I received a text from Santander to say that mortgage offer had been issued on a Friday and the actual offer was received by post the following Thursday

Somebody else asked this question a few days ago and mine from Santander came in the post about five days after the text notification. It should include your offer and valuation report (well mine did anyway)

Considering they approved the application 10 days after submission, another week to receive the actual offer is slow!

I need this for the solicitor to exchange..

Your solicitor will get a separate copy sent out so they may get theirs sooner depending on the snail mail.

Thats a good point dalo, I forgot to say that my solicitor received the mortgage offer before I did

I am in a similar boat. We applied last Monday and received our Santander mortgage offer text this morning. I'm hoping it won't be too long we have to wait! I've looked over our MB's copy though and all seems good

Well my broker has said that Santander told her they were posted yesterday. So I would hope to receive them tomorrow I guess...

I'm glad I have the offer, it's just nice to see it in front of me!

Santander have a special offer with Royal Mail and use third class post.

I am generally a patient person, I have just been hammered by the builders about the deadline so am anxious to get exchanged.
