HMRC don't want tax return - what about casual earnings?

Aslong as the casual earnings are below £2500 HMRC can just put it through your PAYE record/tax code.
HMRC is trying to take people out of SA who don't need to file, generally people find filing SA returns a bug bare when its for minimal income, however if you feel like you meet the criteria or you just want to file a return get your wife to call HMRC and they can set her back up into SA.0 -
I'm in similar situation to the OP in that I did self assessment for 5 years and this year they said there no need (and they seem to have included a lot of the bits and pieces on my PAYE coding letter).
However my accountant said don't be so naive, if you owe the taxman money he will want it and ultimately its your duty to disclose and pay all the tax you owe.
I intend to still do a tax return0
