a friend of mine, wife said that she and some of her friends had to wait 10 to 11 months before she received their state pensions. they got theirs pensions a few years ago so it'll be the old one.
now the question is will I have to wait that long and if so it will be back dated?
just got my pension notice and just waiting for my validation code etc before I can proceed to claim.
I reach pension age in November.
I know you get paid in arear but 10 months or so is taking the !!!!.

The wife of one of your friends has told you that when she and some of her friends reached state pension age and claimed their state pensions, they had to wait ten or eleven months before the DWP put the pensions into payment?
Are you sure that you or they have not misunderstood the system?
It is now over five years since the state pension age for women started to increase.
Is it possible that the women you mention meant that they were among those who would formerly have reached state pension age at 60 but in fact did not reach it until the age of 60 and ten or eleven months?
Therefore the pension was paid at the time it fell due, rather than being due for payment and delayed by the DWP?0 -
i'm not to sure about their pensions etc. maybe they did misunderstand the ifo.
