I've agreed to help my sister with buffet for my BIL's 30th party and said I'd do some pasta salad dishes. Does anyone have any ideas for some dishes, need at least one for veggies and one tuna one.
Shes the most un-OS person I know and has helpfully suggested I can just go a buy some from M&S and they'd be fine:rotfl:  Can only think of doing a tuna, mayo and sweetcorn one but thats a bit same old same old.
Thanks any help would be appreciated!:D

I recently did a tuna one with a small amount of green pesto, lots of mayo, chopped finely chopped red and yellow pepper with finely sliced spring onion and quartered cherry tomatoes.
Went down quite well and looked pretty with all the coloursworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I do a spicy pasta chicken served cold. Its just cooked chicken, cooked pasta, sweetcron, mayo and some chilli powder.
Just mix all together, but add powder at the end, or you may make it too spicy!
You could also do a chicken or tuna rice salad. Just throw in some chopped salad.
Or a veggie option pasta. Roast some peppers, onions, courgettes, carrots and either mix with pasta or rice. Add some lemon juice or balsamic vinegar.
What about couscous with mixed roasted veg?

Hi tracy,
I make this one a lot:
Fry chopped onion, garlic and green pepper in a little olive oil. Then add baby tomatoes and tinned sweetcorn. Finally add black pepper and your choice of herbs for extra flavour.
Cook the pasta - I usually use fusilli (the twisty one)
Drain pasta and mix in other ingredients.
Serve either hot or cold.
There's an older thread with lots of pasta salad recipes on it:
pasta salad
I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the ideas together.

I'm doing some pasta, rice and potato salads for hubby's birthday party next week. No tuna I'm afraid (he doesn't eat fish) but you could probably replace the chicken in the first one with tuna.
Pasta salad: multi coloured pasta, poached chicken (possibly with garlic in the poaching liquid), homemade pesto
Rice salad: Brown rice, 1 red & 1 yellow pepper, spring onions, tomatos, fresh parsley, garlic, lemon, olive oil (adapted from this: http://www.eighth-day.co.uk/recipes/lmedrice.htm)
Potato salad: potato, curry powder, shallots, peas, mayo & greek yoghurt (adapted from here: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1591035)0 -
My favourite:
- penne pasta
- green pesto
- sliced, fried mushrooms
- pine nuts
All tossed together with a splash of olive oil - yummy!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
I used to do one with cooked pasta, normally the twirly one. Mix with chopped fresh tomato, green pepper finely chopped, whatever else you fancy really to zing it up, fresh chopped chilli, or nuts, raisins, cold chicken, then add some poppy seeds. Looks really attractive in the dish and different to being covered with a sauce or whatever.0

Hiya,
Just tried to reply but for some reason, I couldn't, weird!
Anyway, the two ideas I came up with are:
First, not suitable for peanut allergies, so please be careful
Pasta (obviously, lol), mayo, peppers, a handful of peanuts, (peeled and cubed) cucumber and a bit of sweetcorn. If you like you can add a bit of chicken, but you certainly don't need to.
The other idea was: pasta, prawns and melon with a little bit of mayo mixed with some tomato sauce or puree (to make a kinda marie rose sauce).

I make this with rice but you could use pasta instead
tinned pineapple chunks
chopped up cucumber
finely chopped raw carrot
cherry tomatoes
strips yellow pepper
sometimes with cold chicken ( if there's some left over in the fridge)Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗0
