@jamesd -from post#18 doesn't look like an IFA was involved -just the scammers!0

There's often a real IFA involved behind the scenes to trick the original pension scheme into doing the transfer to the one the scammers are using. Even if she has no documentation about that, the scheme she was originally with might.0

There are also a number of IFAs themselves being scammed by the scammers using their name to obtain the details despite having nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Whilst there have been some dodgy advisers involved in some of the scams, those tend to be for unregulated investments. Most of the liberation scams did not involve an adviser.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. Further info....
The deal was done with 'Windsor Pensions'.
Everything was done online / email, the transfer paperwork was sent direct to Windsor, who did all the signatures electronically.
All along she was told it was legal, and never seen an paperwork.

I've only managed to find the above from six years ago but the writing was on the wall for all to see.
Did your sister not do any checking at all?

Best comment on that thread.
"This was a good thing, but now that the UK GOV have suddenly realised that ALL that money sitting in their bank earning THEM interest is being taken out, they're ranting an raving about it, it's OUR money, NOT theirs, we already paid tax on the initial pension salary when we served, their seeing their little nest egg getting taken away from them, and how many blokes never knew they had such amounts available to them, had it NOT been for Windsor pensions?
I want what's rightfully mine, why should the Government be using MY cash to throw at immigrants who don'e even pay TAX !!!!"
I weep for my species.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

They were unregulated and used a method that the pension ombudsman does not control.
That thread was disheartening. All those armed forces personnel being ripped off like that. Although even after all the warnings on the thread, there were still some willing to do it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I've know (and employed!) a few people from the armed forces, and let's just say that they weren't exactly deferred gratification people and not too big on thinking through the consequences of their actions.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
