You get paid by cheque?

Arrogance as usual... People come on these forums for help not to belittled. As long as you feel big for your bullying and sleep well at night, that's all that matters....
  • No I get paid into the bank as usual, I was worried by the wording used of " due to the nature of the code we can't say why it has been denied"
I do wish they would just say why so I know when I rd apply in 3 months I know if it's gonna be denied again or not

You took out a £9k loan 4 months ago and are now applying for a £12k loan. 3 months won't make much difference if that's the reason you've been turned down.

I'm not sure how affordable this is for you but if you have a £500 overdraft and multiple hire purchases (one of which you 'forgot' about) it doesn't sound promising.

Your credit rating is meaningless as the lenders use their own criteria rather than that of the CRAs.

Wouldn't "pay check" be the Americanism?

Of course. That's a double whammy. An Americanism using American English.

They do not have to tell you why your application was denied. All you will know is that you do not currently meet their lending criteria for the loan.

However, if you have taken out £9k in March, have several other HP accounts running and regularly use your overdraft, you are likely to be flagging up for unaffordability. They cannot force you to pay off the £9k and only spend your 'top-up- of £3k, so they have to assess you for affordability of the total sum - £21k. You would need to be a salary of over £40k to have a reasonable chance of it.

If you really must take on extra debt, why not just ask for the bit you need - £3k? You would have much more chance of getting that, although I would suggest that taking on more debt at all might not be the best idea until you have cleared some of your other outstanding debts. It snowballs easily, trust me, I've been there.

    Best of luck.

    It made me smile

Ignore the miserable gits, some seem to think you can't mix debt and humour (humor).
