Outlook / Hotmail updates

A couple of weeks ago my Hotmail / Outlook (outlook.com) updated it's layout. I've got friends who this happened to months ago but it seems they're doing it in phases since mine only just happened.

Anyway, I was digging about and noticed that it hadn't saved any of my filters (If an email contains "Winner" or "Congratulations" in the subject line I've set it to be moved into a different folder).

So, if you use outlook and your layout has updated, It might be worth checking. It's a bit confusing, the new layout, so to do it you need to click on the wee gear icon, top right.
Choose options
Click on Mail in the left column
Automatic Processing
Inbox and sweep rules

Then check to see if your filter is still there, if not, Click on the wee + icon and add it back in.

If you're not currently filtering in this way, It might be an idea to set one up, it just lessens the risk of missing out on a win, you do get a bit of spam in there (from casino type 10 free rolls emails) but it's well worth it.

If you want to set it up, go back to the main mail page and in the left column, click the + next to "Folders" to add a new folder, give it a name and then do the steps above to filter mail into that folder.

Just discovered my filters have disappeared too - really annoying. Set them up again.

Also had a look on there and my 'block list' seemed to be quite full (addresses that were blocked from sending me emails). I don't remember blocking any. Maybe Outlook was doing it automatically when i deleted an email.

Some emails on there were genuine and possible emails a win might come from which is frustrating. I have had 1 or 2 issues with getting an email from a win - hope this doesn't mean there were many more that i just don't know about.

That update has got to be the most frustrating thing ever.
Lots of people (myself included) have had a real go on FB to Outlook about it, because it's awful to use, and we can't change it back to how it was before.
I actually have 2 Outlook/Hotmail accounts, one hasn't been upgraded.... yet. But you can really tell the difference when using them.
The new layout is clunky, slow, and trying to forward emithers (especially when comping) is a nightmare sometimes. It's one of those that comes under the category 'if it ain't broke' I'm not impressed anyway.

Mine has now updated...I don't like it the old one was much better.

Yes I got the update recently and I really don't like it. So slow at loading, compared to previous version and I too had lost some of my filters. Really not sure why they needed to update since this version is a step backwards imo.

So many annoying issues with the new hotmail/outlook - I have complained to customer services but they don't care - they should at least have asked us if we wanted to upgrade - i just hate it!
