You seem to have 2 subnets ..
Was the router new to yourself or did you get it from somewhere else ..
By ther way, it's subnet Mask
It was supplied by Talk talk, 12 months ago.New.When I renewed my contract.
I do have 2 subnets? whatever they are?
It says at the top, there should be no need to change anything in this setup, to get network running ok.
I haven't;
Out of the box as you say.
Plug and play.0 -
Some people configure a guest zone, which allows people to access the internet, but not their computers. subnetting would be one way to implement that.
(Your not with BT are you ? They have some mechanism for sharing your wifi with other BT customers.)0 -

I never set anything up.wouldn't know how to;that's why I'm trying to learn about my router.
It was already done, just plug and play, no hassle.
Only me uses my Pc.
No other users.
Ipad.Printer.Kindle
that's the lot.??0 -
There are multiple scenarios where you would want 2 subnets.
Seperate VLAN, as above for guest access etc would be one of them.
But i would definately not expect this to be configured fresh out of the box.
This fact, coupled with your other issue in your OP would make me want to factory reset my router.0 -

are you saying that when windows said I had 2 Pc's with same IP address, it could have been hacked, and altered?
I cannot see anything dubious other than my IP's in DHCP table?
last resort for me to do a factory reset;
Will contact TT tech site first, see if that's how it's supplied?0 -
Im not saying hacked as i couldnt see the value of creating a seperate subnet if i did hack you.
However, something is amiss.
I would contact TT, see if there is a reason for this, and then factory reset
Or, you could just remove the subnet0 -

I still reckon it was a glitch, but, I'm no Techie:)
I will contact them , see what they say.
What's dubious about leaving it alone, if any?0 -
