Natwest Overpayment

Hi, I've paid a small over payment on my Natwest mortgage, for some reason they take it by debit card they don't give you the option of a bank transfer.

This will hopefully take me under the 85% LTV mark for my remortgage elsewhere but they said it could take 10 working days to clear. I wanted to apply next week (after the boe decision) does anyone know if it will likely show sooner? I can log in and see the balance and still not showing, I paid it Wednesday. I thought for some reason it would show next working day seems a bit long to wait to be honest. Thanks.

    What's the problem.

They don't need your mortgage to be at 85% today to apply for a remortgage at 85%.

If you are remortgaging elsewhere then it will probably take a few weeks to get to the point where they will review your existing account in detail. Besides, just be honest and tell them what you've done.

The other option is to value your house slightly higher, even a thousand pound or so than you need to get into the 85% bracket. Hopefully the bank will side with your valuation.

Have you asked them for the details for bank transfers?

Most banks can provide this so you can either set up a standing order, a faster payment, or both.
