Windows 10 - new laptop start menu cluttered with crap

Hi

I got a new laptop which came with Windows 10.

I am really struggling with it, as it just has loads of useless crap on it - when I open the start bar, it shows rubbish like Twitter, XBox, weather, there is so much pre-installed unwanted stuff like games, phone companions etc it feels as if this is someone else's computer!

Is there a safe download that can strip away all these unwanted apps?

The only thing I want on my computer ideally is the stuff I have installed myself - but a lot of stuff seems installable!

I may just send it back for a refund, but if I can get it cleaned up, I'll give it a go

Thanks

i use powershell (i use the technical preview i.e. insider program and they come back every new release of that)

Thanks - I had no idea powershell was built in and was attempting to download cleaners, all which seems dodgy

Got rid of that, was also able to get rid of twitter and candycrash with *twitter* and *candycrush*, still a fair load of rubbish like XBox live, and Minecraft but that has cleaned up a load of unwanted stuff.

I will probably dual boot Cloudready too.

Another way would simply be to right-click each useless tile and select Unpin.

If you do them all, you can then simply select the right vertical edge of the half-empty box, and move it left.

some stuff in the start menu can also be uninstalled by right clicking and select uninstall (but not many of them) Minecraft can be though.
I would also elect to not receive suggestions either.

Indeed. The Windows 10 start menu is very easy to customise to your liking.

Windows 10 Anniversary Edition will ship on 2nd August with a rethought Start menu. Which people will still hate on :)

W10 Pro users certainly are not going to like it:
