remortgaging now wife is not working

hi - I'm new to this forum, and wondering if anyone on here has any experience of remortgaging when a partner has stopped working. Does it affect the application? Also, my current mortgage has an early repayment charge, but I know I can get a better deal with the same lender, is it possible they will waive the early repayment charge if I stay with them but switch to a new deal??3

Waiving the ERC is highly improbable. More likely you'd need to port the product. If the new mortgage is affordable on your income then your partner not earning isn't an issue.0

Why you want to port the rate when it's is the rate you at trying to escape from? Personally can't see you getting a better rate without paying the ERC.0
