Dumping my broker - any recommendations?

I'm weary of chasing up my mortgage broker and days going by without any response from him by email or telephone, so I'm dumping him. Frustrating, but that's the way it is. Has anyone had success with a particular broker on a 95% LTV mortgage for FTB and, if so, please could you pass along details so that I can get in touch? I have read too many mixed reviews of L&C to go to them.

No retainer in place, no application started. He has been sluggish at even getting as far as that. I just don't have a good feeling about someone who is so unresponsive so early on in the process.0
