Civil service pension scheme PRWP question

Are there any people here knowledgeable on the PCPS? I'm trying to understand the difference between how they calculate the widows pension and post retirement widows pension, particularly when someone joined the scheme before either existed? I've tried looking on the civil service pension scheme website but I've had no luck.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
