I have awful skin, I can use the eco egg non scented and a home made powder from borax substitue and bi carb.

The dove soap will give you a bubble bath, its also likely to cause thrush.

My eczema get very bad if I use the wrong thing! I use the pink surf liquid, can't use the powder. I also use 100% natural coconut oil in the shower which helps very much! I hope your flare up calms down very soon I know exactly how it feels :( xx

My son has eczema. I tried Ecover but that made no difference.

I found avoiding sodium laurel sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate has made a huge difference.

    I now use Splosh.

You might try Method- previously mentioned. When the laundry liquid was launched a few years ago they sent out sample sachets- might be worth e-mailing them to explain the problem (and others?) to see if they have any samples lurking. Worth a try!

i can use tesco non bio, waitrose sensitive non-bio and method. soap nuts cause my skin to flare if I hold them for a few seconds so I don't dare wash anything with them, fairy and persil non-bio are too perfumed for me to use, and like another poster above I haven't been able to use sainsbugs for a couple of years.

hope the doctor gave you some help - you may have to go commando for a while and use aqueous cream to "wash" until your skin gets back to normal. ask me how I know......:o

We're working our way around the supermarket non-bio own brands again: we gave up on Sainsbury's about 15 years ago when they changed the formula, they denied it but my friend had a box of the old stuff and you could SEE it was different.

Latest to be crossed off the list is Morrisons: I wrote and complained that they'd changed the formula, they rang back and spoke to DH as I was driving at the time. Their response? Stop using our powder. No !!!!!! Sherlock!

We've found Waitrose is OK. Actually Sainsburys seems to be OK again now. And I've bought a Lidl own brand to try that.

Extra rinse and vinegar instead of fabric softener might help. Actually, if you're using fabric softener, stop ...

It entirely depends on the person I think. I did use ecover for a while, which I do think is good washing powder and does avoid many suspect ingredients, but it made me itchy. Been using the method liquid now for a long time with no problems. I don't use softener, never really bothered with it actually, but the method liquid does seem to leave everything very soft anyway.

Which magazine tested eco balls and came to the conclusion they did no more than washing with just water. The claims I've seen about how they allegedly work don't make any sense to me either.
