Declined loan but good credit rating

No, this bank is not one of my husbands creditors, i opened this ac in 1990, just added his name to it.0

Yes, i understand where you are coming from but doesnt explain why my original loan was granted, if joint association is to blame. Between us our salaries before tax come to 35k, our mortgage is £600a month, original loan is £100 a month, we have no other credit or major outgoings. Maybe its because we are too keen to pay the loans off, we have done this in the past, before the last payment date.0

18 months is quite a long time for one of your joint associations, bank account or mortgage to start reporting to the CRA, although I'm surprised you don't see it in your recent CRA files, either way you look at it until you get your husband unlinked which is impossible now as you have joint accounts then you may have to wait. If you have applied for any credit since the loan even a mobile phone or utility's even on your own as long as a link is there then these applications could provide a link you were unaware.

I have received a letter from bank head office quote "when we were looking at your application we found Bankruptcy information registered in your name. Unfortunately we are unable to approve your application if this is the case" unquote. I rang them today, they could not find any record of my loan application. I told them that I had 3 credit profiles that had no mention of a bankruptcy. In the end they put me in touch with somebody else covering insolvency and again no record. I have now been advised to print off all my credit reports and take them to my local branch and take it up with them, Iam assuming that this is the only thing going against my application. To make things more interesting there is somebody with the same name as me on the insolvency register, this person lives in my county! I have carefully scrutinised all my reports and again found nothing, it is a mystery to me where the bank has got this false info from.0

If what you're saying is true, and they're stating the bankruptcy is in your name and it happens to be someone with the same name then you should pursue it further - ultimately to the FOS if necessary. The FOS can't force the bank to lend you the money, but they can instruct it to consider the application according to the banks normal lending rules as if the error had never occurred.0

Thanks. Would that be the Financial Ombudsman Service ?0

Would it be possible that the bank were supplied the incorrect credit file details by the CRA used for the credit check?
OP does the credit search by the bank show on your credit file yet?0 -
Interesting, have checked my credit files again just now, no record of any search by my bank on there, does it take a while to appear? Can't believe the bank could have been misinformed.0

Are you paying some sort of subscription for access to your CRA files? If not, ie you're checking free versions with the likes of Noddle and Clearscore, then you may be viewing the same copies you viewed last time.Interesting, have checked my credit files again just now, no record of any search by my bank on there, does it take a while to appear?
It seems you're financially associated via both a joint current account and a joint mortgage? When was the association created?0
