HSBC old loan interest redress?

Afternoon all,
this afternoon I received a letter from the HSBC, which appears legit, stating that due ot them not showing repayment options and settlement dates on my previously cleared annual loan statements then I should be compensated for any potential losses?

This is not a small figure either!

I've called the no on the letter, it has all my correct details on and the machine that answered my call was the official HSBC line. The person I spoke to was aware of such letters going out.

The letter is asking me to provide details of how they can repay me. How can I see if this is legitimate? Don't want to give them any details without knowing this first?

Can anyone point me in the right direction please

Thank you

Tell them to send you a cheque to the address that they sent the original letter.

As it's an issue that has affected many lenders and resulted in similar repayments (ridiculously so in my opinion) I wouldn't bother testing if it's legit any further. But if you are still concerned you can call a general published HSBC customer service line and ask them if it is a legit communication.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
