    Morning,

Monday has come round too quick. Today I’m staying at home but have lots of jobs to do including :

    Hoovering
Check finances ... maybe make a small payment
    Dusting
    Clean kitchen surfaces
    Washing
List some items for my business
    Pack items for business
    Sort pots of money out
Write Xmas list of what is left to get.

I’m hoping to have a nsd. I’m due to be home quite a bit this week so am hoping for it to be a low spend week and a do lots of jobs week.

    Morning,

I was out all day yesterday but didn’t spend that much. My back has been really playing up so have had to book my therapist which is £40 but it’s only the second or third time this year which is a huge improvement to previous years and I’ve waited as long as possible but I’ve been up during the night in pain.

    Today I need to:

    Hoover
    Clean bathroom surfaces
Sort money pots out- allocate money needed until next pay
    Wrap and post items
    Finish listing this week’s items
If I have time get all presents out

Have a nice day everyone x

    Morning,

Today I really want to sort out all the Christmas presents I’ve got. They are all over the place but want to bag them up in order of who they are for but feels like a mammoth task!

It’s that time of the month where I don’t make any payments onto the Cc but I feel so desperate to make payments.

    I need to:

    Do washing
    Check meal plan
Check finances and sort pots out ( this needs to be done today)
    Sort presents out
    Answer work question
    Sort paperwork out
Set up food shop online with voucher

I’m hoping to at least get those bits done.

    Have a nice day x

  • You may just have to make minimum payments until January but the crucial thing is not to add to the debt so don't buy on the cards. You can always make overpayments once your budgeted presents are paid for. Try not to go overboard as I have seen some people spend hundreds of pounds on their kids and if you are in debt it is crazy to go even further into debt just for Christmas. It is not all about the presents.

Thanks. I definitely won’t be using the cards but would love to pay more of my debt before Xmas and am getting frustrated that I can’t.

Have been looking at finances and will have to just accept paying the minimums until the end of the year. We have so much going on which is all involving spending money. I don’t think I’ll achieve my goal of getting under £45k on the cc debt before Xmas unless I have a sudden mad month of sales.
  • It is important to stay on track of your budget which you appear to be doing but if you pay too much off debt so you don't leave yourself enough to live off leads to temptation to spend on cards again which is a slippery slope back to uncontrolled spending. You are not doing that so that is a win. Getting all your Christmas spending done within budget will be another win. I would like to think in the new year you can make an affordable payment to reduce the debt every month but without taking extra money out on balance transfers and setting money aside every month to save for your holidays, Christmas, birthdays and annual expenses for the car. Any exta earnings can then either be split between your emergency fund and debt until it reaches £1k and then put against the debt. I think you would do better to focus on one debt at a time rather than the overall figure. Aim to clear one of the smaller ones which are charging interest or have a deal due to expire.
