Doesn't that only apply if the people paying FITs are also selling you electricity ? Keeping the transactions with different companies might mean the FIT lot have no access to export figures.Sterlingtimes wrote: »Those of us with a smart meter which measures export lose "deemed export" status and are paid for actual export.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

We have a smart meter which doesn't measure our export so we are still on 50% deemed export. We have our imported electricity and our FIT payments with the same provider. We also have an iBoost.
Hope that info is of some help.

Same here (sort of) as Edwink. I've asked for smart meters from EDF (my leccy and FiT provider). They've confirmed the leccy meter will give export figures, but they said they don't use them for export payments.
As I export 70% of generation I'd prefer it to be accurately metered, but it's not a lot of money, perhaps £30.
You're probably right that splitting FiT and leccy accounts would break any link as there seems to be no coordination or consistency in the export policies.

The scheme rule is that deemed export does not apply where there is a means of metering the export. I suspect that some avoid the rule where the FIT administrator has no knowledge that a smart meter is fitted.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. The other peculiarity is that Ovo does not measure the export smartly so I have to report the export reading by email. My loss is about £30 per year. But the Ovo Smart Gateway statistics are shaping up very nicely and I would easily pay £30 per year for that service. Unfortunately again, Ovo does not yet recognise export in its Smart Gateway service.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
