Pension fund fluctuation

Since you're planning to reinvest the 25% there's no problem with that plan and you're doing just what I intend to do once I reach 55, in part because it reduces my exposure to the risk of changes in law, reduces my chance of exceeding the lifetime allowance for pensions and gives me more investment flexibility.
I was also considering locking in the 25% when I retire and re- investing it to avoid any future law changes - whoever unlikely.0 -
Did I mention I smoked
I thought my home was my pension and I forgot all about this, I plan to downsize in around 5 years so that should give me around 400k, I'll work till I drop though ha!
I was shocked at the size of the pot, I only paid around 15k in over a 3 year period, I was always ( fervently) against pensions per se but I d advise anyone thinking about it to do it sooner rather than later!
You hear so many scare stories where companies don't make enough profit to service the pension fund and use the money to prop the business up!
It's a minefiekd I know
