Cleaning silver

Hi
I have found some silver jewellery at home that I haven't worn for donkeys years. The items are solid silver, no stones, and are tarnished
I want to clean them at home using household products and have found a website that lists a dozen or so ways. As well as the usual suspects such as vinegar or baking soda they suggest trying ketchup, toothpaste, washing powder, hand sanitiser, window cleaner or hair conditioner:D
The article was from Readers Digest so I thought it might be reliable.
Has anyone tried cleaning silver with any of these or any other items?
Thanks
Just remembered I tried shaving foam once on some earrings following some internet advice and it didn't work

Bicarb and tinfoil
Hot water add bicarbonate of soda and a piece of tinfoil, put in silver leave to soak. Tarnish transfers to tinfoil0 -
Bicarb and foil worked for me to on some blackened silver broaches.
I keep my Pukka Pie tins for it. No holes at the bottom and saves having to line another container with foil.0 -
I've used ketchup & toothpaste, comes up a real treat.0

Thanks for the tips, I'll try them0

The bicarb and tinfoil method needs the metal components to be in contact for best effect0

I tried the bicarbonate and foil, it worked a treat:T
I now have 2 beautiful cat shaped brooches and a Claddagh ring that look as good as new0
