Any idea how to recycle old VHS tape?

As well as video camera VHS-c and Hi-8 tape? I feel bad throwing these, though cannot find any other alternative for recycling. The actual tape has some toxic metals that can be hazardous to the environment. So far I have found nothing in the UK to recycle old tape

That looks a bad idea considering the tape is coated in harmful toxic metals :-O
They recycle them in the US though guess its landfill for UK0 -
EMS -Environmental Media Disposal in Bristol seem to do it.
You may have to contact them to arrange what they will do free of charge.

My local recycling centre (Solihull, West Midlands) has a collection point for cassette tapes and CDs. Presumably that means that the old tapes are then transported to specialist recyclers like EMS?
So could be worth checking if your local recycling centre has a collection point.0 -
