Hermes - 2 missing parcels in one day?

Supposedly had two parcels delivered yesterday - one at 11.16 and the other at 14.56. One was an item ordered through ebayer retailer and the other from another website.
Both are showing up as 'delivered' - but two of us were in all day and nothing came.
No immediate neighbours where things could have been left and we have checked round the property - its only a small bungalow - not a rambling farm.
I have contacted Hermes who say I have to go through the retailers - which I am doing.
Luckily items not too expensive - but how can you prove you've not received an item? Hermes won't or cannot tell me where they were left and who signed for them.
Never had this happen before and two in one day seems a bit odd.
So now don't know whether they'll turn up or not!

It's not for you to prove you had these items delivered; it's for them to prove they actually delivered them to you.0

A status of delivered will be sufficient for eBay to side with the seller.
Op, as you've already found out, Hermes want you to go through the retailer you purchased from. Ask them both to dispute the delivery. They should then get the help from Hermes. The driver is contacted and asked the specifics on the delivery. What happens after that is really down to how good your seller is.0 -
Thanks both. Yes I noticed on eBay there is no button to show non delivery as according to them I have received the item. I have informed both retailers so now fingers crossed.
Weird in all the years of online shopping I've never had this before and then twice in one day.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I have had similar with a parcel tracking showing as delivered when it was not.
I raised a non-delivery issue with e-bay and the seller dealt with Hermes. 3 weeks later my parcel arrived with a re-routed sticker on it. I am sure that some of their delivery people (who seem to be random people using their own cars, judging by the 70 year old woman in a floral skirt with a limp who dropped off a parcel yesterday with no signature required) could just say they had delivered it to the right place....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
If you have not had the item, is it worth contacting Paypal to try to claw back the cost? I know Ebay used to be linked to Paypal (Ebay used to own PP) but I think that link stopped not so long ago. It's not something I've done before though since the link between the two stopped but maybe see?
Other than this, contact the seller, it could be that they have insurance they can claim on or can look into this as it could be it's stolen by the delivery person or sent to the wrong address; if they have no signature it should be possible to make a claim based on this, if they have signed and it's not your signature it could be fraud (could also be a wrong delivery). When this happened to me with DPD delivery I went to the Police as it was fraud (the delivery person stole my mail) and the Police did follow it up.0 -
Thanks again for the input. The one parcel I ordered via an unknown (to me) website arrived by DPD this afternoon. Evidently they had sent another item out immediately after I complained on Thursday - so full marks to them and I shall be thanking them.
Still waiting to hear from the ebay shop seller but they are closed till Monday.
Thanks again. If no joy after a few days I'll try Paypal.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I had this as a seller using hermes, try going through their facebook or livechat, they are more likely to listen! good luck"No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing...we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future"

Have used livechat twice and they seen to say that they cannot access their records and the query has to come from the seller.
Shall try their Facebook page - thanks.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Well after speaking on Facebook seems they were back at depot - too busy to deliver. Though no one could tell me why or who had marked them as 'delivered'.
Anyhow they came yesterday.
But other people still waiting for their 'next day delivery' from Next - from last week - my post on Facebook prompted a flurry of replies from local area.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
