It can be really expensive running shared ownership and there are varying schemes. If you are seriously contemplating it please feel free to pm me and I'll try to go through the advantages and disadvantages (assuming you are in England or Wales!)

    Council tax 122.00

Gas/elec 120.00 (paying extra £20 towards arrears as they messed up)
if you can get this cheaper anywhere go for it, use eswitch (or similar) for prices, quidco(or similar) for cash back

Buildings/contents insurance 48.00 if you can get this cheaper anywhere go for it, use eswitch (or similar) for prices, quidco(or similar) for cash back

Tel includes landline, line rental & 2 mobiles 60.00 - if you can cut back on mobile you this may save up some cash

    TV licence 5.00

Tv rental 42.00 - can you cancel this and buy a second hand one?

Life & savings insurances, mortgage cover 120.00 if you can get this cheaper anywhere go for it, use eswitch (or similar) for prices, quidco(or similar) for cash back

    Car tax 19.00

    Car insurance 18.10

    RAC 16.00

Fuel 90.00 (use about £50) - why buy 90 a month when you use about 50? If you could economise your driving then you may be able to save here

Fares & travel 61.00 (daughter school bus fees no other option)

Food 339 (for 4 but i average 300.00) Use the old school board for meal planning and hints on eating well on the cheap

school meals 80.00 (but daughter does take pack lunch most days) Stick to packed lunches or similar to save on this :)

    Pet food 20.00

Clothing 53.00 Can you cut back here?

    School trips 10.00

    Hair 16.00 (cut hubby's & sons myself)

    Medicines 10.00

    Opticians 20.00

Hobbies, pocket money & emergencies 60.00 Sometimes times are tough and sacrifices need to be made, most hobbies can be done for free over the internet today

    Total outgoings £2265.00

    Incomings

    Hubbys 1539

    Mine 656.00

Benefits 162.00 are you getting all the benefits you are entitled to? Check out https://www.entitledto.co.uk to find out

    Total outgoings £2357

    leaving £92.00 for CCCS

Please pick away guys any help greatly received. Trying very hard to stick to this budget but something else seems to always crop up & i dread the time when the car needs work doing!

I think savings can be made, having read about the possible house sale, you may save on council tax as well when you move.

As most people will have suggested try to cut the cost of all utilities and use cashback sies to switch where available.

Other ways of looking at this is to have a house declutter, find out what you dont need or use anymore and sell it on ebay or carboots.

That way moving costs will be less, a lot of people on here say about the virtue of a decluttered home, im one of them
, lots less to clean as well ;)
