Anyone else having major problems with Student Finance Direct??

I applied for student loan ect in April and I'm still trying to convince them of my identity even tho' I've sent every form of ID known to man except my DNA. In fact, I've sent my birth certificate and ID declaration form twice now.

I spent approx 30 mins on the fone to them today and that was even before I actually spoke to a human. They still couldn't help with my query and offered me a complaints address to send my frustration and confusion too.

Please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Isn't it your LEA who need to confirm these details? Maybe it might be better to go and see them in person

At The Student Room there are major complaints about SFD at the moment, lots of people havent heard anything at all from them despite applying in May etc. Might be an idea if you contact your LEA direct which seems to get people results.

Unfortunately, my LEA is SFD Processing Unit, so I dont hold out much hope for getting my grant when I start uni on 1 October

Unfortunatly I'm in the piolit scheme catchment area and they have no contact telephone number and it's quite a distance to travel to get to their offices.

This pilot scheme really seems to be a problem and actually no help to anyone. I'm hoping it doesn't happen for everywhere after this.
