The Official Receiver will tell you what statements (and for how long) they need to see.

But you only need to provide what you have. The OR can demand any that you are missing directly from the banks/CC companies at no cost to you.

They are very very used to seeing people who have been approaching BR have missing paperwork, since most of us weren't exactly the best at keeping records.:o:rotfl:It is absolutely nothing to worry about.:D

  • thanks fermi youve put my mind at ease yet again!! another of my worries is the house, we have downsized twice in the last three years and used all equity to pay off debt, we bought this house in march for 190k having 100% mortgage so there is no equity ,there is a penalty of 6k to redeem the mortgage and to my understanding if the or was to sell it they would incur the costs of approx 4k. for me to rent i would have to find 6 months deposit due to being br and not being able to provide a bank referance, so with average rent in my area of about 800 it would cost the or thousands to ship me out. please tell me im right as i cant think that we will lose the house as well as everything else.. thanks chris:confused:

I not so hot on the property side, but it sounds as if it would be to no-ones benefit (you or your creditors) for you be turfed out of your house. And I can't see why you should be.

I believe that the OR may ask you (or a member of your family) to purchase the 'beneficial interest in your property.
Since there is no equity in the property this would effectively be a sale of the rights to any 'future' equity that might develop. This is commonly done for a token value of £1 plus a couple of hundred in solicitors fee's.

This explains some of it, but it's not the most clearly written factsheet:

With a bit of luck someone else will be able to give you a clearer heads up on what will happen.

  • On the bank statment note, I sent all that I could find off to the OR. THEN (before my interview) found a very large stash of unopened ones that i'd hidden! I phoned to see if they wanted me to forward them, but they said that she had enough and told me to keep them for a few days and then shred them! So I wouldn't worry too much.
