Mortgage application & childcare costs

Hi, my son is going into full time school in September, so my childcare costs will be £80 per month instead of £232 happy days. When applying for a mortgage in August (I am not paying anything that month as he's at families for the 6 weeks) should I put the £80 or the £232 as all my bank statements will show the higher amount. I could always ask the school for an invoice for September to show them the upcoming costs? Obviously this will have a huge impact on affordability. Thanks.

I would agree, put the £80 down, however double check with the lender. Some lenders will ignore the £80, others may be realy fussy and want evidence it is dropping - its best to know upfront so you can be prepared.

When we applied we told them what we pay at the moment, but our son is 2 years away from going to school.

I must say I sometimes cant wait for my son to go to school.

Currently pay £760 a month, when he goes to school childcare should be about £250 a month. It'll be like getting a 500 quid a month pay rise :rotfl:
