Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a mortgage approved after completing the full application with Barclays?

Anyone with previous experience would be grateful.

Thanks

Too many variables involved to have a fixed timescale.

When I took first time, in 2014 - I have got accepted in 5 weeks. (With the help of broker)
Again remortgage with further advance this year - total 11 working days including valuation from them. (Without broker) even I was shocked.
However it totally depends on many factors like valuation time, availability of all the info required, and amount too
    Best of luck.
  • Thanks Joy_Mate, sounds like I might be in for a long wait then. It's painful waiting, and stressful.

    Nothing is easy.....

And one more factor to add, if someone is EU applicant and applying for first time than it does take many weeks now just to think (for lenders)
Also affordability is above par than nothing to worry...just wait for text message from Barclays. Keep ur mobile on....

Most lenders get offers out within 2 weeks.
But it all depends on the lender, the applicant and the surveyor.

  • We went in branch last Wednesday (13th) and went through application. The application was sent off the following day and valuation was booked within hours. Valuation took place Tuesday (19th) and sent back to Barclays yesterday (20th). Barclays have approved it and track it says that they are waiting to send out offer. Checked with the lady in branch and she has said waiting for underwriter to sign off and then send offer, which can take up to 5 days. All very quick so far so fingers crossed...
  • Just an update - we received a text today to say Mortgage offer has been issued. So just under 2 weeks from appointment to offer. Good luck.
