Hi all,
My boyfriend has been made redundant and whilst we can live on my salary things will be tight for a while until he finds something else. He is actively looking but hasn't found anything yet.
My question is with regard to contribution based JSA. If you can claim this, do you just have to show you are actively looking for a job or are you required to take any job they find for you (or lose the right to claim)? So if, for example you are an accountant, and there are shelf-stacking jobs going at the local Tesco, do you have to accept that in the meantime, or can you just look at accountancy jobs and as long as you are actively applying for those then that's fine?
The guidance I've found isn't clear.

They don't give you jobs to go to these days you have to look yourself. You can restrict what your looking for for 13 weeksMortgage free wannabe
Actual mortgage stating amount £75,150
Overpayment paused to pay off cc
Starting balance £66,565.45
Current balance £56099
Cc around £32000 -
Why wouldn't he take a shelf stacking job in the meantime if he can't find another job within a few weeks?.
If all he is doing is sitting at home he might as well be out working doing any job he can find until he can get a better job that he has the required skills for!.0 -
Get out and work and get some self respect. Have a purpose to get out of bed. Too many people complain they cant find work when in actual fact they just dont like the jobs available.:j Only just realised there is an IGNORE button to filter out narcissistic trolls :j0
