How helpful was the venue?

Hey guys,
We are using the venue's in-house caterers for our wedding. The lady we are dealing with is very nice, soft spoken and frantically apologising every time she does not get back to us or there is an issue. And that is the problem
First issue was the menu. There were a couple items which she mentioned her team could do (not typical English food). So we wanted to book in a taster and literally for 15 consecutive days she promised to call us back to get it booked in but failed each and every time. When we actually done the taster, again, profusely apologizing for the length of time it took to book. Most of the food was great but the food that was not English was terrible and even the dessert (cheese cake and apple pie) tasted like something from Iceland that hadn't been defrosted properly. In the end we decided to do our own dessert.
More recently, we have sent numerous emails about a number of things and she never gets back to us and when we call, she gives of the impression that we really are annoying her. It sucks that we are finding this out so close to the wedding date and can't change venue.
In conclusion, everyone else seems fine but this lady is just annoying and too "scatty". We even got told today that we can no longer decorate the day before as a big dinner has been booked in.

It may depend a bit on price - can you afford someone (a wedding planner?) to manage the relationship for you - to nag, make all the calls, bring them up on their slackness, etc?0

Jeez he's already considering taking out a loan to pay for the silly wedding extras!
As for OP: our venue nearly always replied promptly, nothing was too much trouble and very friendly/ easy to get along with.
At this point, you are probably stuck with her. Deep breath and just get on with it. You sound quite annoying to me to be honest so I don't blame her0 -
The venue we had for our daughters wedding this year bent over backwards to help up bring in the wedding we wanted at the price we wanted
The wedding coordinator was a joy to work with and was on hand all day,the big day
Did you research the place you have booked? We booked a very prestigious award winning hotel and spoke to other couples who had either married there or had attended weddings there. Whilst there were the odd poor revue of trip advisor for hotel stays, the weddings were always top notch0 -

Mainly primary research as we could not find anything online. We done a taster of the food and have ate there 3 times to test out the service and food.0 -

So you didn't know anyone who had either hosted a wedding or been a guest there ? And there is no online presence?
Dodgy to say the word0
