Lloyds collections

So last week called Lloyds customer service to say was struggling to pay loan and cc they dud an income/expenditure then said seen as had only 70 left each month they'd pass on to collections and told me they'd make a nil offer and advised me to cancel my direct debits with them ASAP, and said can arrange with collections later
Yesterday got letters saying my direct debit was cancelled and I needed to reinstate or they may take payment from my current account
Obviously going to call them tomorrow just wondered if anyone had any experience with them and what potentially the next steps would be
I've never defaulted on a payment before but it's now inevitable so tried to contact to prevent this but their advice seems to be to not pay so
Thanks

Hi, this will just be an automatically generated letter once you cancelled the ddLBM 2/12/15 - total debt £62500:shocked::shocked::exclamati::eek:
2/216 £29500 unenforceable.
DMP - 1/9/160 -
Hiya yeh that's what I thought so I shouldn't be worried about them dipping into my account0

As above, the letter will be computer generated, triggered by cancelation of the DD.
However, if this is going to be long term, then I would be worried, as a bank can use the right of set off, to take money owed from other accounts you hold.
There are rules governing this though, they are not allowed to leave you without a certain amount of money, and its unlikely they would invoke these rights straight away, but long term, you may want to open a new basic bank account, with a bank you have no debt with, just to be safe.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
