I think with all the cutbacks £200,000 would be better spent elsewhere.

No doubt there was some deal done at some point - like there was deals done with republicans and "get out of jail free" cards, grants, backhanders, etc - years ago for this to happen.
This was revoked by the Sinn Fein culture minister at the first opportunity, and has now been reinstated by a unionist minister at the first opportunity.
Typically tit for tat by our politicians.0 -

Why does nobody ever get nailed for filtering diesel?
"A diesel laundering works has been found on a farm near keady." No one gets charged. Strange.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

Not so strange really, it's quite common. 100 rioters, 2 or 3 get charged, the rest don't. Shoplifters seem to thrive, as do drug dealers. Vandals and anti social yobs are rarely before the courts, and the punishments are paltry. The streets were a disgrace after the 12 th parade, how many litter fines were handed out? Theres a 50 mph speed limit on the motorway where the new services are being built, but it's not enforced. There's less chance of a worker being killed if the 50 limit was obeyed, so it seems neither the police nor the speeding motorist (or truck driver) give a damn about workers lives. There's no real deterrent. Rant over.
I am quite sure if I started filtering in my hayshed I'd be banged up in no time. Caught wth the equipment and the product on your own property? People are being allowed to get away with this.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

In fairness the bands do provide a structure, and perhaps prevent more young people getting involved in drugs, gangs etc.
I wonder if any band can apply for the grant, like this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm-DXNJdDeQ or this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySczuWGjCMQ
or is it limited to only a certain group of bands?0 -
Yoicks. I think we can make a very good case for remedial lessons.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0

All right. Thanks for that, but it took a second offence before they charged him. He must have got a caution or less the first time. Try that with drink driving.
