National express coach drivers are rude and arrogant

A number of coach drivers are very rude and arrogant in this company. One shouted at me today to stop using my mobile phone. I told him to read the conditions of carriage that clearly state that phone usage is allowed on coaches, but passengers are reminded to keep it to a minimum and not annoy other passengers. I made a 4 minute call to my wife during a 5 hour journey. We have to remind these coach drivers that they are here to serve us and have a responsibility to be respectuf and polite.

And because one shouted at you you're joining a new forum to complain about them all ?
That's like saying all taxi drivers are responsible for the worlds woes.

I have been on quite a few coach tours now with Shearings and National Express (same company ) and so far every driver has been excellent. If you don`t believe me just take a tour to the Cotswolds with Shearings staying at the really nice Berkerley Hotel and sample "Alan " for a few days. I`m sure he would nt have upset you bawling into a phone like an American. The thing about a mobile phone conversation is that virtually no one else need hear what you are saying and if the driver could hear you, then you are yelling into the thing, and you need to be told that no one else wants to hear your tittle tattle, so try whispering into it, they will still hear you but importantly , I won`t

I took the national express coach between Liverpool and Manchester for 2 years commuting to work. The drivers I experienced over that full period were incredibly rude, completely distancing themselves from the fact the people on the coach were essentially their customers and that they represented their employer. I got the distinct impression that they were being treated unfairly by their employers and had zero job satisfaction.

Obviously there were a small number of exceptions, but customer service and customer feedback are certainly not part of the companies list of priorities (despite their 'text in your experience' campaign).

It's not just National Express drivers.

Well known fact that people with blue eyes are the same... Also, anyone under 5'8" in height.... And anyone who is left handed.

You don't think taking over 400 journey's wouldn't give my opinion some weight? Although in the end it is still only 1 person's opinion and in 1 specific region, I encountered a decent sample size of drivers. My experiences validate the OP's point.

Ditto. Just had Sam take us to The Strathmore at Morecambe. Lovely local lad, lots of local knowledge, and couldn't do enough for all those in his charge.
