A friend of mine can't eat gluten, and she made a lovely crumble once using rice flour. It was the lightest crumble I've ever had. Very yummy.
I often add oats and sometimes chopped nuts to mine.0 -
I always use SR. My MIL once read that you could add a little muesli to your crumble - and then gradually over dh's teenage years the crumble became all muesli - apparently he wouldn't recommend it“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
