If they are being really sticky, you might need a letter from DR or nurse looking after him to say he is temp incapacitated, can't write etc. Get a fax no from the bank and ask the ward sister for a letter saying he is currently an inpatient on ward so and so... Should let them put the brakes on for you.
Yeah right you be very lucky. I had to virtually drag sick notes out of the hospital so let alone get a letter. And hardly ever got to see any dr's and when they did they ignored me and would not talk to me.
Actually to be truthful until my husband was discharged from hospital after nearly 4 months did I get a piece of paperwork with the word stroke on it. So I could have been lying all along as they never put stroke on the sicknotes.
Best to get a sick note from hospital and send them a copy as you may need the original for work or a benefit claim.
