I'd be very surprised if there werent fee free deals with rates that smash your SVR. (i have a very small nortgage so any fees destroy the advantage of the cheap rate but have always found fee free ones that still save me a small fortune) Nationwide are usually very good for these. currently 2 year fixes for 1.99 and 5 year fixes for 2.35. i'd be surprised if your SVR is anywhere near this?

I am pleased to surprise you. And very pleased I looked at what happened after the intro rate ended.

Well done you, The lowest i could find at the mo was 2.5% with Barclays which would still result in a saving if you took he nationwide 3 yr fix but on a small mortgage the gains are marginal. If you have lower than that like i say well done, awesome work.:T

Alliance and Leicester - who possibly regret linking the follow on rate to the BOE base rate.

Yes, there was also the possibly apochraphyl tales of the lender who had a rate of BOE base - 0.75%, who had to pay people each month. i think they offered those on that deal juicy lump sums to end it.
