Trying to negotiate a full and final settlement.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and this is my very first post so please be kind :):)

Brief history,
DLC bought my debt from Black horse for £18,000, Over six years ago. I have paid on time every month never missing a payment. The debt is now £6000.
I contacted DLC with an offer of £1600 as full and final settlement, as I had already paid over £12,000.
Instead of declining or offering me a counter offer they have sent me a form to fill-in detailing my monthly expenditure and providing new phone numbers.
Can anybody please offer some advice regarding full and final settlement and dealing with DLC.

Thank you so much in advance for any support advice given, it is greatly appreciated

Dchs :T:)

    Hi,

They simply want to know where the money is coming from, and if it will leave you short, if you pay off this debt,(new rules on affordability you see).

It's up to you if you fill it in or not, I certainly would not give them any phone numbers, just stick to the financial aspect.

Before you part with any money make sure you have it in writing that they, or there agents, will not chase you for the remainder of the balance.

    Thank you sourcrates

I have never had a good experience with debt collectors and this is my final bit.
I guess I was a little suspicious as to there motives as they seem to have totally ignored my eqestion.

Thank you for getting back to me
