Should I align a brand new gear hanger?

I replaced the rear mech gear hanger on my mountain bike today.
Whenever I've done this, the brand new one doesn't seem to be properly aligned when I check with a hanger alignment tool.
It's not out by much... It's angled inwards at the base by maybe 5 to 10mm.
I was just wondering... is this normal? Shouldn't new hangers be perfectly aligned to begin with?
Should I try to "correct" it myself, or make a mental note of how the new one is angled so that when it needs realignment, I can tilt it in by 5 to 10mm at the bottom, just like when it was new...?
Cheers for any tips!
