Free BT Vision From BT

I phoned BT to cancel my broadband as I was planning to move to Sky. My 12 month contract was just due to end a few days later.
They knocked my BB bill for the maximum package down to £19.99 and offered me free BT Vision box and installation if I stayed with them on another 12 month contract.
I accepted because I've actually been very happy with my BT BB service and I love the home hub side of things.
Worth a try if you're near the end of your contract or outwith it. I'm not using BT Vision in the living room, since it's free I've got it hooked up in my bedroom through my PCs second monitor. I can now game to my hearts content and watch On Demand TV.
I don't have a TV aerial socket in the bedroom which BT Vision technically needs since it's a Freeview box with built in PVR with 80GB HDD. I signed up to the £6 per month On Demand package which gives me access to a catalogue of TV series on demand which streams through your broadband connection. This is on a month by month basis so can be cancelled pretty much as and when required. I plan to get an aerial extension run to my room though in the near future which will give me full PVR and on demand functionality.
On top of all this free BT Vision stuff, the engineer moved the home hub nearer the BT Vision box which meant he put in a phone point in my room (free) and because I hid my wireless adapter for my PC he left me one of them too (free) which I've now plugged into my spare PC and can now run this properly as a fully networked media centre/ media server with my external HDD and connected via my Xbox 360 in my room. Fully networked, multi-faceted entertainment throughout my flat now
Not bad at all including the £5 or so off my broadband monthly cost.
To try and preempt any questions.
1. BT Vision on demand programs stream through your broadband connection and does it surprisingly well. The data used by this is NOT counted towards any monthly bandwidth limit you may have which is good.
2. Damn.. I had another one lined up but I forgot what it was now ! Nm.
