Capquest / Zinc Group Limited

Hi
I have a loan for around £15k with Natwest for a legal practice course but due to falling pregnant I was unable to complete the course or pay back the debt in full.
I negotiated a payment plan with Natwest of £300 per month. Due to a change in circumstances, I could no longer afford that amount each month. I tried to negotiate a lower payment with Natwest but they weren't interested and a while later I was contacted by Capquest. I agreed with Capquest to pay £50 per month and have been doing so for the past few years.
Last month, I received a letter out of the blue from Natwest to say 'our collection agents have been unable to come to a suitable arrangement with you, therefore your account details have been passed onto Zinc Group Limited" and they will be in touch. I haven't had any discussions about a new repayment arrangement or missed any payments
I have now researched both companies and there are so many horror stories. Natwest were completely uninterested when I called and I'm really unsure what to do. Natwest still have all the details about the balance and payments made which is strange if the debt has been passed on to Capquest/Zinc?
Firstly, can Natwest pass on the debt without my consent?
Should I be asking for credit agreements and/or proof that the debt has been passed on?
Should I be paying Natwest rather than these Debt companies?
Should I refuse to make payments or engage with Zinc Group?
What will happen if I end up in court over this as from researching these companies, this is what they threaten?
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I really do know what to do!
Thanks Alex

Hi,
Debts are passed around DCA's like car keys at a swingers party !!
They won't of been happy with your original payment, so have passed to another DCA to go through the process again.
You can either arrange with the new DCA to pay what you can afford, or you can CCA the owner, which I assume is still Natwest,
It's a real pain when companies do this, but it happens a lot.
If Natwest are still the owners of the debt, you can ignore all the other muppets, as there is nothing they can do, as they are instructed by there client.
Maybe write to Natwest to confirm who owns the debt now ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thanks for such a prompt response, I will try again with Natwest0
