OH losing his job?! Paying off my CC, starting School, food shopping and Mummy moans!

Hi,
I haven't been on here for a good long time, but OH has now been told he is likely to be made redundant AGAIN!!! 6 months ago he managed to hang on to his job by the skin of his teeth, now it's all happening again!!!!Roo is now 4 and starting school in September, and May is 3 and a madam and a half!!!!
I've changed jobs since April due to mad alcoholic boss, but now only earn £100 a week and have to drive 45mins to work!
We've sold one of the cars so now just drive around in the campovan, which is a right pain and drinks fuel.
Still have my £3K CC, but have changed it to a 37 month 0% and pay £100 a month.
So have started this thread to try and get on track in case the worst should happen, which to be honest, I'm thinking it probably will this time
I am the most unorganised person in the world but always have the best intentions, if I can combine the two and do them right, I'll be laughing!
So Goals: :j:T
I must must must must meal plan, and stop just buying stuff I think I'll use! I'm pretty good at buying the cheapest and not spending a lot on shopping, but some things are not very well thought through.
Make as much as I can from scratch, I do not need to buy precooked rice, or ready made pizza.
Stop speeding along to work and drive more fuel economically.
Start shopping at A!di! I've done a price comparison and it is definitely cheaper. For the same priced items, I'll get them from T£esco To get the cIubcard points for our family days out.
Stop eating like a pig, I'm getting a right fatty and costing us money in huge amounts of food!
Stop buying faddy 'healthy' foods, like almond milk and special nut butters! Yes they are healthy, but I can't afford such luxuries.
Stop going to Costalot coffee on a monday with May as a treat and spending £4! I do love it and so does she, so I think, I will scale it down, as really don't want to give it up! We can just have a tea and a babycino, instead of a hazelnut, frothy, fatty, whipped, decaf, massive Cappa-coffee something or other! Then that should only be half the price!!!
Stop leaving all lights and TV's etc on all of the time!!!! As always too late and running out of the door on the school run to turn them off!!!
Use the WM and DW when the solar panels are working, not just randomly when i feel like it.
Actually use the stuff in the cupboards and the freezer instead of constantly buying more!!!!!!!
Drink less alcohol and more water, as this has crept up to week nights, which isn't good for the budget or my waistline!
Get the house tidy and organised, so I can see what we've got!!!
That's it for now, will be back with tomorrows list of stuff!
Please join in and wish me luck!!!
Much love

Thanks rockabillygirl.
Right goals for tomorrow, we have no plans for the morning, but am helping at nursery tomorrow:
Tidy up upstairs and try and get more organised, so can put all the washing away, and make it a nicer place to be.
Take photo of meter for OH for solar panels, so we can get our money from the energy company.
Pick all the fruit outside, and freeze, or maybe make into jam!
Go through the fridge and main food cupboard and organise a little.
Washing - but only when Solar panels are on!
Play a game of something fun with the littlies.
Cook a veggie bolognese with ingredients I already have in.
Bath littlies.
Go through Roo's new school uniform and see if I have everything, really struggling with him going to school, he just seems so small
I'm going to try my best not to shout at all tomorrow, I just seem to shout a lot and its not the best parenting skill in the world!! OH has been awAy for work for nearly 8 weeks now, and it takes its toll on my patience! So I am going to try and count to ten and breath more, when small children are throwing things at my head etc!!!! Wish me luck, with the rate these two fight and hit and are horrid, one or other is always sitting on the stairs AKA the naughty step!!
hmmmm will add to that no doubt!!!0 -

Hey Bob! So nice to hear from you, I noticed you'd joined the Flylady thread, I read that most of the time, how have you been keeping?
Omg I can not sleep! I had a huge coffee at about 3pm today, obv a mistake!!!! Should really make the most of my time and plan my attack on the possible imminent redundancy......
One thing I'm trying to do is eat more veggie meals, meat is so expensive and I don't really want to have to be buying the cheapest meat just to have it. Will investigate some veggie alternatives, not want to be using quorn mince or anything though. Already make bean chilli, and veggie curry and risotto etc, am yet to get the taste right (nice!) for bolognese or shepherdess pie..... Might have another look at my cookbooks!!!!0 -
How about buying the cheaper cuts, rather than just the cheap meat which may be chewy?!
Quite often I will get an ox cheek for example. I don't think it's very popular as it's often in the reduced counter for about 50p. Anyway, that cheek bunged in slow cooker with veg and dumpling is enough to feed me four main mealsLBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors

Hi Missy
Sounds like a bad night. Horrible when you just cant sleep.
I have been following flylady for about a month now. What a great bunch
I do struggle a bit for the same reaaons we all do, kids, work etc but I like the framework it provides.
Meat free eating is a good goal for health and budget.
Have a good day.

Hi Missy
You have a lot on your plate so just be kind to yourself, its darned hard work looking after two littlies, never mind all the worries with OH.
I think a lot of your issues and worries are similar to mine, except for that fact that my kids are 15 and 17 - but still need treating like toddlers sometimes!
I agree that organisation is really important though, I have been using the flylady principles of doing a little housework every day for years and it does make a difference. Oh and I love veggie food, but cant get anyone else in the house to eat it!0 -
Hi Zenshi, thanks for that, I've had Ox cheek before and loved it, will keep an eye out at the butchers and T£esco for such things!
Thanks Bob and Yorkshire, think I will try and jump on the flylady wagon at the same time, but start with it gently.
Have been outside and picked the fruit, black currants for maybe jam? And raspberries just to eat, need to do the ones out the front and get the meter reading, but prob should be dressed for that!!!!
Think I should probably wash the bed sheets today as its nice and windy.0
