the problem with dealing with the self employed has always been there with CSA and CMS.
basically, they need to find his money/earnings before they can progress the case. if he is working cash in hand they will not be able to get any info from HMRC and so cannot get realistic assessment in place.
you need to report the NRP/PP to HMRC fraud department and they should investigate him and take appropriate action.
the problem CMS have in trying to take action for Committal to prison is they have to show the judge that the NRP has the ability to pay or is willfully refusing. if he does not tell CMS that he is refusing to pay it becomes difficult (but not impossible) to take this action

I already have done, 14 odd months ago and back in February. They don't seem very interested to be honest.

my son used to pay maintenance until 2 years ago when he moved back home & went self employed, he was paying £5 week now he pays nothing, he earns enough, just wont pay. l have given the mother all the info she needs, his monthly payment is now £55 & should be taken from his bank, sadly 2nd month no money. he has been abroad twice this year & is going again soon. he can see his daughter whenever he wants, so can l, that's not a reason to stop paying though. what can she do next?
