I can't believe I haven't posted this here yet, but as of the end of last month I am debt free
I still have some money on a credit card but we're doing our house up and its easier to use that to keep a complete record of each room (as its the only thing the card is used for) and as we split the cost between us it makes life easier
BUT
The loan has gone, I have 1 credit card, and I have the minimum overdraft on my current account (my just in case fund!).
When I first sat down with myself just under 4 years ago I was approximately £14,500 in debt, all amounted from just having not enough sense and spending beyond my means
I had a loan for £10,000 and credit cards on top. If I'm honest I suspect it was more than £14,500 but I don't really want to look now.
I've thrown everything I had at it (and hence now having money to do up the house), and I've managed to still have a social life and do things like festivals and still pay it off
I would like to thank many posters on here for picking me up when it was tough going, and my real life mates for coming round to mine to get !!!!ed rather than us going out (we all saved money so it was all good
)
so to anyone on the first steps of your journey - keep going
it is possible, it is do-able, and the feeling when you get there is just amazing
