You have done so well.:j You should be shouting from the rooftops.
I notice that your journey has taken you almost 4 years. This is just the encouragement that I need. I have only just started this journey and my debt is going to take just over 4 years to clear off. This morning I was feeling quite low, it appeared to be almost impossible. I came onto this site this morning, I usually, do to find the motivation to keep me going, and I came across this thread. I too feel that my time will come. Just have to keep up the hard work.
YOU GO GIRL, GOOD ON YOU!!
I'll share one of these , when I'm able to join you on the roll of honour.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
It's funny actually, when I started it felt like it was going to be forever to get rid of it. I so quickly just adapted to not having the money around the actually its flown past
On payday I would move a set amount of money into another account (I used online banking so this was easy), then leave it there. As I usually forgot about it it would still be there at the end of the month and then I paid it onto either the loan or credit card (on top of the monthly payments). If I had a tight month (i.e. travelling with work etc) then I had that money to dip into. But cos it wasn't in my normal account I was conscious about spending it
it helped loads
Good luck, you can do it and it is possible
and 4 years really isn't that long in the great scheme of things

Wow! What a feeling it must be to finally get there! My debts at the moment are less than what you have, so at least I know what can be achieved if I work at it. I aim to get rid of mine within 2 years - I know it will be hard and that any bonus from work (this year's was about £800) must go straight into paying debts. Hearing someone able to say 'debt free' when they had more than me is certainly an inspiration.
And I don't use the word 'inspiration' lightly. People who have never had debt have no idea about the hard work and stress that having debts can be - and seeing that through to the end and being able to say 'debt-free' certainly is an inspiration.
A BIG well done!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Congratulations, I too have just started my debt free travels, and knowing that people on here can help get through all this and be debt free at the end.
One day I hope to make the same post you have.

Congratulations. :j
It's great to hear good news, particularly from someone who was in it for the long haul. From my lbm to dfd is a little over 4 years and if the next 3 go as quick as the last 1, I'll be a happy bunny.
