Something I heard Oprah Winfrey say which was hugely helpful for me, that when you take away the sugar, you need to up the taste level: spices, herbs, vinegars, what have you, all the tasty stuff that will still let you eat well.
Thats it, I'm done for the night: sleep well all. xxx2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm going to start by tightening up the diet, I've slipped as well. When you feel hellish then you start treating yourself to wee things in "sorry for yourself" mode lol and then you feel worse.0

cfs can strike almost anyone. I have a niece, who started her own successful business, she is beautiful, employs 7, she is dynamic and is in a social circle whirl. She got a virus around christmas, could not shake it off and one thing led to another, not able to do anything, not able to talk for more than 15 minutes, not able to put one foot in front of the other. She has been in constant communication with me, my new home will be 3 miles from her, she and I are so alike in what we studied etc and our health beliefs. It was the constant stress, she is getting better, feels better and has taken up the reins again and is moving forwards
I have been stuck indoors during the day, like many, so have been prepping by finding companies and products for my new house. I have found the exact make of external door that I want and have the telephone number of a local company. Today, ok not stuck in the house yet but was up too early, I found a very highly rated removers/house clearance/garden clearance/cleaning company who would move me a bit at a time, which is what I want. The perfect backup, in case I get a house full of things I don`t want. Little by little, I am doing the background prepping, ready to call on people to help0 -
It's a so empowering reading stories of people who have helped themselves to better health.
I'm no longer afraid of answers. I want to know what's wrong so I can truly grab the bull by the horns like many of you and just get on with living, while helping myself.
Hey Mar definitely tighten up the diet. Since expelling the wind trapped in the upper curve of my colon my resting heart rate has dropped a little. It's clear to me that every bit that is out of sync puts pressure on something, somewhere.0 -
Absolutely, Mar, tighten up - I ended up thinking of food as a bit like holistic medicine, but it has to be easy. Pure fruit juices. Frozen peas and spinach and broccoli. At the moment, I want to look into wheatgrass - I've read it has all the essential amino acids - and maybe I can grow it myself. Also pea protein, apparently its sold in powder form, that'd be interesting. What steps are you going to take?

I used to grow wheatgrass karmacat. must have been 35 years ago. I grew it in trays, cut with scissors and juiced it in my greenlife juicer. I used to get small amounts of juice and be warned, it tastes vile. I have always juiced, ever since the 70s. Only ever had 2 juicers, the space -taking greenlife and now the omega vertical, both are slow juicers
I have tightened diet up personally, never ate after 5 anyway but now try to get all my food eaten in an 8 hour slot, then nothing else but water. It works very well for me because the psychology works too and I just don`t feel hungry until the first meal, I don`t always succeedd in waiting that long because I have a habit of waking up early. I might eat breakfast early at times but don`t head for extra food during the day. In reality, I have my one main meal at 12, protein snack in the morning, eg cheese on hm flaxbread, maybe nuts. Then something very small at 3, compote with hm granoa and yoghurt
Most days a green juice, using my omega vertical juicer, today will be peeled cucumbers, mint, lemon, chard leaves, celery stalk, two cabbage leaves and I will chop ice cubes in a bit of water, mix the lot together and keep half for later in a mini thermos. I didn`t do a green juice yesterday because I can only eat/drink so much and I made a different nice drink. Shelled hemp, cacao, water and frozen blackcurrants, fast whizz, then I sieved into a glass. I love that drink0 -
Thanks kittie! It doesn't seem to be a garden thing, does it, people always seem to grow it indoors. I've heard how bad the taste is
I guess thats going to help me use more herbs and spices :rotfl:

how Karmacat, re herbs and spices? You`re supposed to drink it neat, self-flagellation makes it work better
The combines are being prepared. I have just seen the top of one, trundling down the farm track, from my window. I think oilseed rape has been sprayed and looks ready to harvest too. It will be all systems go, quite fascinating machines tbh but I am going to shut my windows on that side, they don`t half throw up some dust when they transfer the grain. Living here makes me appreciate harvest festivals, the race to get all the food in and safely stored
Just 10 am and I have done a full days work. Prepped the patio and plants for the house- selling photos next week, shifted a few things around, cleaned the solar bird bath and watered all the plants with miracle grow. Makes a big difference tbh. Had my green drink, prepped my lunch, hung washing0 -
You're well ahead of me this morning Kittie, although I was out dog walking at seven I've done very little apart from drink tea and make many lists. Better sort things out here after this post.

I'm determined to improve my health again and have started this morning by making a few lists to see if I can identify my low trigger points, defuse them and stop reaching for the sweets option to comfort myself with. After all it's not a treat if you end up feeling worse.
Prepping to me covers good health care, and I need to focus on that for the future so apologies to anyone who thinks I'm in the wrong thread.0 -
Capella, you are right seeing treats as a comfort. I have Crohn's disease and fight my sweet tooth constantly. Although the doctors stress that nothing I can eat causes a flare, It only makes sense really good nutrition calms it. Fuddle, chew chew chew your food. I was told your stomach does not have teeth. I hope you are feeling better. Mardatha, would you consider restarting the kelp? I still take it.0
