THE Prepping thread - a new beginning :)

I suppose I am combining prepping with KM but the way forward came to me this morning, out of the blue and Mar knows what I mean. I have a workshop/outbuilding block, which is blocking the future moving potential but did some KM this morning in my cosy outbuilding and suddenly I can see the way forward, so I could establish my workshop again by combining things and storage I already have. The prepping for me now has become exciting, as though KM removed a blockage to my thinking. Removing `stuff` and prepping for space is highly important to me just now. I have all the prepping basics for `what if` but my personal life has be think beyond all that. Prepping so I don`t get locked in to now0

((HUGS)) BB. Our last cat changed his very independent behaviour when he got elderly, and once followed me to the dentist (only a few minutes' walk away from home, but on a very busy main road which he normally avoided ). I had to run back home with him and hand him over to OH at the front gate, and then run back to the dentist's to be in time for my appointment. I think he was developing dementia and needed to be near me for security.0

Bob, I think as cats get older they feel the need to be close to their humans, for comfort or reassurance. My Albert (nearly nine years old) has always been an affectionate mog but even he has of late been snuggling right up to me on a night time. Enjoy her ladyship's company, she is paying you a huge compliment by showing you she trusts you and feels secure with you.One life - your life - live it!0

I'm a fatalist.

I wrote a long post but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. Ah! never mind, it was nothing that hasn't already been said by others.
A couple of years ago I found a recipe on the old style thread for dandelion 'hunny' - one of the best preserves I've ever made. Sadly I've lost both my electronic and hard copies. Can anyone give this to me or point me to the right thread please? I know it's not the right time of year, but I keep forgetting to ask about it.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2400 -

9 years-old is still young.0 -
Yes, all being well, Albert will have a good few years with us yet. Assuming Molly the collie stops stalking him like a sheep. One life - your life - live it!0

There's an OS thread called The Preserver's Year, maybe it was on there? One life - your life - live it!0 -
Minnie-strone soup?
Catch, bash, slowcook with vegetables, herbs, salt & pepper, filter, pick out bones for extra crunch/calcium to taste, adjust seasoning & serve with a swirl of cream & a crusty roll?
(I paraphrase a rock soup recipe - which despite starring a lump of highland granite & a nail on a strong for the iron, was essentially veg soup "dressed up" for the recipient who was a severely picky wombat but happily blind to the actual mechanics of cookery.)0 -
I suppose that a house file would come under the prepping title, belt and braces stuff. Now I am doing maintenance myself, it seems to be more essential to be keeping a record of what, with what and how often. For example, I will need to paint with oil the wooden garage doors and shady end of outbuilding in three years and I will need to also clean out the large water butt at that end in three years. I need to write down which product and how much I need and if I have any in store. Same for the cuprinol on the sunny end, I now have 2x 1 litre unopened to store because of not having a plan in my house file. Using silicone spray in various areas, non-sticky oils on window and door hinges. On and on with routine dated tasks but also good to have a file on hand for one offs, like the rollers for a curved glass shower screen that are very hard to find, bought some but need to write down where I keep them0
