Not looking for a fight here - are you?
Not at all. I was merely pointing out that, working into your mid/late 60s is not a new concept.I think TPTB are fantasists who've no idea of the reality of most people's working lives
Actually, I think they're realists, trying to cope with a constantly increasing population, resulting from a high birth rate, longer life expectancy, and mass immigration.
Whether we like it or not, the current situation is not sustainable, and something will, eventually, have to be done about it.
I can foresee a time when, however unpalatable it may be, some form of population control will be necessary.0 -
The traditional form of population control is to start a war.

Well either that or a revolution... anybody got a guillotine?
GQ I think they want us to quietly die off before we claim any pension. Us - not them!0 -
Was seeing on the news today that they are going to stop repeated medicals for some chronic illnesses - about time too. Still waiting to see what Scot Gov come up with re: benefits - couldn't do worse though!
It's been a beautiful day here, sunny with a slight breeze - perfect! Has cheered me up no end. Sorry for the moan this morning, have given myself a good talking to so hopefully on the up again0 -

I'm inheriting a pitchfork from my Nan's place. I will be ready when called upon, fear not. It has a metal handle, so we better not storm Parliament in a thunderstorm, that's all I have to say.
