Veg Stew

Hi

Can anyone tell me how long veg stew will keep in the fridge? I made a big pan thinking that it will be useful to freeze then forgot about it until last night so just put it in the fridge.

It will get eaten but I'd rather not have it 2 nights running

Thanks for any help

    Hi,

I tend to keep pre-cooked items in the fridge for about 2-3 days, If I know Im not going to eat it straight away, I do put in the freezer.

As long as your stew is well covered and away from raw meats, you should be ok.

When you say forgot about it, do you mean you left it on the stove?? If so, I'd reboil it really well for about 10 minutes, portion it out so it cools off quickly and then fridge or freezer right away - even while still warm.

    Hi Odds and Sods

I'd put it in a cool place to cool down but then didn't get round to putting it in portions and in the freezer. I like to freeze as soon as possible after cooking so didn't feel happy freezing it so will eat it over the next couple of days. I just wondered how long it will last.

Thats what i like about this site, that people care about other peoples well being:T :T
