verrucas question

I am trying to get rid of the persistent verrucas on my sons foot.
We have tried various methods and thought they had gone as we couldn't see any 'black bits' they were clear for about 4 days, then the 'black bits' came back  so we have resumed treatment (currently covering with nail varnish).
How do I know when they have actually gone so I can stop treatment?
Thanks

I have only had 2 verrucas in my life. Both were sorted out by a chiropodist. That may be your next step.:)0

My memory of verruca treatment is it leaving a definite neat round hole in my foot, which then healed. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Be careful you're not re-infecting yourselves. Take care when sharing towels, or walking barefoot on damp floor, etc0

You need to have it treated with actual treatment - you are likely reinfecting by using nail varnish - although whoever told you that was how to treat herpes was blatantly having a laugh.
See your GP.0 -
I treated my daughters with bazzucanand it took a few weeks.
We used to file it twice a week and treat it every night after a bath. Each night you have to peel the stuff off so I would use a tweezers and pull dead skin off as well which helped a lot.
When it was ready to come off it left a lil hole in her foot which has now completely healed:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0 -
Try Lemon Essential Oil, that's what I used for my sons and it got rid of it. Just put a drop on morning and night.0

See your GP.
I thought it was the human papilloma virus that causes verrucas?0 -
Thanks all, the GP / nurses are not interested in verrucas they just refer you to the chemists.
I was using duct tape but couldn't get it to stay on the skin.
We tried bazzuca for months and it didn't work, we have also gotten through a whole can of wart ease (the freezing one)
The nail varnish seemed to be working but no hole yet so they must still be there. I will try to go back to the duct tape.0 -

What did the chiropodist do? I don't mind paying for him to see one but will be a bit miffed if their treatment doesn't work, they are not cheap to visit.0
